You select a subscription plan on the BarkBox website or through third-party app stores like Apple App Store or Google Play. The company offers flexible monthly options and prepaid multi-month plans that can save you money upfront.
Beyond standard boxes, BarkBox also sells add-on treats, toys and credit packs to extend your subscription value. However, many of these are non-refundable once purchased, which is why understanding the cancellation process before you sign up matters.
How the subscription works
Once you subscribe, BarkBox charges you on a set schedule and ships your box to your New Zealand address. If you prepay for 6 or 12 months, you lock in a discounted rate but commit to paying for the full period upfront.
The tricky part: cancelling a prepaid plan stops future charges but does not end your current paid period early. You will continue receiving boxes until your prepaid months expire, with no refund for unused time.
